If you choose to provide us with personal information, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information to our servers located in Canada. Please note that your personal information will be stored and processed on our computers in Canada and BankruptcyONE.com will hold and transmit your personal information in a safe, confidential and secure environment. We may use personal information to provide the services you have requested, including services that display customized content to you and to others. Your Password is the key to your account and you may not share it with anyone. Use unique numbers, letters, and special characters and do not disclose your BankruptcyONE.com Password to anyone. Many attorneys will set up Usernames and Passwords for their clients, in those instances it is the attorney's and their client's shared responsibility to protect those Passwords and not give them out to any third parties. BankruptcyONE.com will never ask you to send your password or other sensitive information to us in an e-mail, though we may ask you to enter this type of information on the BankruptcyONE.com website, which will always have a URL beginning with https://www.bankruptcyone.com. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify BankruptcyONE.com to have your password changed.

Any email or other communication requesting your password, asking you to provide sensitive account information via email, or linking to a website with a URL that does not begin with https://www.bankruptcyone.com/ should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and should be reported to BankruptcyONE.com immediately.

We communicate with users on a regular basis via e-mail and reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the BankruptcyONE.com service, such as registration confirmation, service announcements, administrative messages and attorney referral messages. This site gives visitors the option of removing their information from our database at any time should they wish to no longer receive future communications or service. BankruptcyONE.com also sends to our attorney users notices of payments that they submit to the Site to activate cases. BankruptcyONE.com utilizes the latest security technologies to secure your data including https certificates, challenge respond passwords, IP logging, daily backups and much more. The Site uses industry leading 128 bit SSL data security ensuring total client attorney confidentiality. All data is stored redundantly in class 5 data centers that utilize biometric access control, halon fire protection, and diesel generator backup for added security. Your petition data will be stored for one year on our active server array. After one year we will automatically move data downstream to offline magnetic storage.

The security of your information is our number one concern. While third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, we have taken every step reasonably possible to safeguard our program and all of your personal information. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use lots of tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and disclosure. Specifically, data such as Social Security Numbers, Account Numbers and Credit Card Numbers are encrypted once saved into the Site.

We limit access to personal information about you to employees and our software developers who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.
